- Proficient management of marine logistics
- State-of-the-art camera boats, ferry boats and dive platforms with surface supply and communication facilities
- Underwater rigging services, recovery work and support for set building, SFX, Stunts and rigging
- Water Safety including specialist Rescue Paramedic teams supported by medical emergency services
- Technical consultation regarding commercial legislation, Health & Safety best practice & protocols
- Personnel including commercial underwater camera operators, skippers and crew
- A database of marine props and featured or "picture" boats available for charter
In addition to our in-house team, we have established and proven relationships with a core collective of key players in the marine industry allowing us to adapt to any brief and pull the best resources for a strong operations unit no matter the size and scope.
However, although we pioneered the use of commercial divers in the Media Industry and as far back as 2004 we were invited by the Dept. of Manpower to assist with the legislation of media diving practice, we are so much more than just "divers".
With our roots in film production, specifically the Unit/Locations and Production Departments, we are marine specialists who understand the logistics of film making and the importance of a professional, accountable and well-coordinated technical service on set.
From PPM to Wrap, we thrive in an environment where safety and teamwork is the order of the day.
We've even been known to pull ships out of a hat, if not from our database!
Through our involvement over the years with logistics solutions for Marine Sporting Events in South Africa, we have relationships with many jurisdictional key-players in City of Cape Town, D.A.F.F, S.A.N Parks, Disaster Management, Cape Nature as well as all the yacht clubs and marinas in our City. This has been tremendously beneficial for our Media clients and, on top of the fact that we are recommended by the National Sea Rescue Institute, our reputation precedes us not only as the longest-standing and most experienced company in our field of expertise but also as the most reliable in the business.
We are proud to have never lost or damaged equipment, nor jeopardized the safety of our cast and crew, some of whom we have worked with for 23 years and who vehemently profess that they would never go to sea with anyone else.
FEATURED "PICTURE" VESSELS
Props masters and art directors, look no further!
Most marine-related productions require at least one hero or picture vessel. Our comprehensive database includes an impressive range of rowing, sailing and motor boat options. Everything that is available to charter in our waters from pedalo's to passenger liners, dinghy's to diamond diving vessels is on our books. We also allow picture referencing and offer scouting services should you require a rare or unusual vessel.
Marine Scene is blessed and proud to be situated on a peninsula at the southern tip of Africa, the Fairest Cape, surrounded by water.
Cape Town can boast some of the most unique, interesting and exquisite locations in some of the most spectacular settings in the world, most within a two-hour travel radius of the city centre.
But, whether The Fairest Cape or the notorious Cape of Storms, the Marine Scene team is unsurpassed, bringing invaluable local knowledge and experience that allows us to confidently adapt to the environment and ensure our client's requirements are met.
With an emphasis on safety, we know exactly where and how your shot is achievable having worked extensively in hundreds of aquatic locations around South Africa from pounding surf, deep oceans, and flowing rivers, to placid lakes and even indoor swimming pools!
